The Thurcroft Big Local Conversation

Thurcroft Big Local Partnership is keen to work together with groups in the village to develop and support community projects that will make a difference to residents.

The Partnership can provide up to £1000 of funding for projects that will:

  • Work together long term with us to help make a difference in the village
  • Demonstrate they can find matched funding to create best value

Anyone who is interested in exploring this opportunity need to complete a simple form to   tell us briefly about your project idea– we will then invite you to speak with us at one of our meetings on a Monday night to have a conversation about your project, how we can work together and how we may be able to help and support. It may be just help with publicity and posters you require, some advice, providing volunteers or help with some funding to help the project along.

An online form can be completed here

Forms can be obtained from or by post to Thurcroft Big Local Partnership at The Hub, New Orchard Lane, Thurcroft S66 9AE. Closing date for expressions of interest is Friday 29th June 2018.

Facelift to Sandy Lane Allotment Site

Problems with security and vandalism at the site will now be reduced due to the generosity of The Banks Community Fund and Thurcrof tBig Local . Other benefits have been provided by the local Parish Council and the fencing supplier Kingsforth Security Fencing Ltd.

Security fencing has been erected at vulnerable sections of the site perimeter whilst at the same time providing space for an additional garden area to be used by the local school children. The children’s area is to be located just inside the entrance to the site and will provide an immediate view to walkers accessing the adjacent open area to the old pit site which provides scenic country walks.

Thurcroft residents are welcome to apply for allotments by asking for an application form at the Allotment Shed at the Brampton Road allotments. The shop is open on Saturday between 10:00am and 12:00noon. Anyone wishing to use the shop for supply of gardening supplies are also welcome. All new members are required to pay an annual subscription of just £2:00. Applications for allotments on any of our 3 sites will be added to our waiting lists. Forms must be returned to the shed or to a committee member. Applications must be updated every year in order to remain on the list.
